Fountainhead Regional Park: Fairfax Virginia
Fountainhead Regional Park in Fairfax, Virginia is home to one of the nicest trail networks in Northern Virginia. Known for its hills and complete lack of flat terrain, the trails also boast a healthy amount of rocks and roots. The trails were designed and built by the Midatlantic Off Road Enthusiasts in with the assistance of IMBA. The trails have grown to almost 11 miles in length and provide a healthy workout for local mountain bikers. One of the signature trail features is the shock-a-billy hill at the end of the loop. It is a 200 meter long descent that is filled with roots and waterbars. It adds a nice punctuation mark to the ride.
