Hoyles Mill Connector Work Day |
June 4, 2005 |
We've been planning a work day at the Hoyles Mill Connector for months. JC had given us a teaser for what we'd be working on weeks ago when we walked through this area. The way the trails were lined up really made me excited to work on it. Building this section of trail was important for a few reasons. This area of trail is pretty high profile with Montgomery County Parks. They've had their eye on this project because it is pretty ambitious. We also didn't have the best of turnout at the last workday. The other reason that this workday was important was because finishing this section of trail cuts out a mile of riding on the roads and replaces it with some really fun, twisty singletrack.
The day went fabulously. We had about 35 people show up to work. We got everything done, including a substantial amount of singletrack that was cut through some thick underbrush as well as three bridges/boardwalks that needed to be built.
